💼 Soul Wealth Chronicles – Issue 37
The Hustle Hangover
We live in a world that worships productivity like it’s a god.
We glorify the grind, praise exhaustion, and wear “busy” like a badge of honor.
We’ve been told that working while sick shows strength.
That skipping rest means we’re driven.
That saying “no days off” proves we’re committed.
That missing family dinners, birthdays, and quiet weekends is just “the price of success.”
But that mindset doesn’t make us powerful — it makes us disconnected.
Somewhere along the way, we forgot that we’re human, not machines.
We started applauding people for ignoring their bodies, numbing their emotions, and running on fumes.
We started believing burnout meant we were doing something right.
The “no days off” culture sold us a lie — that rest equals laziness and that self-worth must be earned through exhaustion.
But the truth?
Rest is revolutionary.
Stillness is spiritual.
And peace is productive.
We’ve been told to sacrifice the present for a future that never arrives.
To miss moments with people who won’t always be here — all to prove our dedication to something that won’t love us back.
But the soul doesn’t measure success in hours worked.
It measures it in presence.
I’ve worked through illness, grief, heartbreak, and fatigue — and every time, I told myself it was necessary.
That I was being strong.
But strength doesn’t mean self-neglect.
It means honoring the signal to stop before life forces you to.
We don’t need more hustle.
We need more healing.
We need to remember that joy counts too.
✨ Affirmation
“I no longer sacrifice peace to prove purpose. Rest, family, and presence are part of my wealth.”
