Round Peg into a Square Hole: Don’t Force It
There is a kind of exhaustion that doesn’t come from doing too much.
It comes from trying to fit… where you don’t belong.
Trying to adjust.
Trying to align.
Trying to make something work that, deep down, you already know doesn’t.
A round peg… into a square hole.
And the truth is, you can force it.
You can reshape yourself.
You can minimize yourself.
You can bend and adapt just enough to make it appear like you fit.
But it never feels right.
Because it isn’t.
For a long time, I believed effort was the answer.
If I just tried harder…
If I just stayed longer…
If I just gave it more time…
Maybe it would eventually feel natural.
Maybe I would finally feel like I belonged.
But belonging doesn’t come from force.
It comes from alignment.
And alignment doesn’t ask you to shrink.
It asks you to recognize…
“This isn’t for me.”
Not everything is meant to fit.
Not every space is meant to hold you.
Not every room is meant for your presence.
Not every environment deserves your energy.
And forcing yourself to stay…
Only delays your peace.
Because the moment you stop forcing…
You start noticing something else.
Where things feel natural.
Where conversations feel easy.
Where your presence feels received instead of questioned.
That is what alignment feels like.
That is what belonging feels like.
Not forced.
Not earned.
Not negotiated.
Just… right.
Sometimes the most powerful thing you can do is stop trying to make something work… and allow yourself to move toward what already does.
There is no failure in walking away from what doesn’t fit.
There is only clarity.
And clarity always leads you closer to yourself.
There is a quiet confidence that comes from no longer forcing what was never meant for you. The moment you release the need to fit into every space, you begin to recognize the ones that were always meant to receive you.
