🌿 SOUL WEALTH CHRONICLES ISSUE 76
Peace Over Pretending
There comes a moment when pretending becomes more exhausting than the truth.
Not pretending for others…
But pretending for yourself.
Pretending that you’re okay with things that don’t sit right.
Pretending that something doesn’t bother you when it does.
Pretending that you belong in spaces that never felt like home.
For a long time, I chose pretending.
I chose being agreeable.
I chose being courteous.
I chose maintaining the image…
Instead of honoring the truth.
Because pretending feels easier in the moment.
It avoids discomfort.
It avoids conflict.
It keeps things smooth.
But over time…
It costs you your peace.
Because peace and pretending cannot exist in the same space.
One requires honesty.
The other requires silence.
And eventually…
Your spirit gets tired of being quiet.
You start to feel it.
In your body.
In your energy.
In the way certain spaces begin to feel heavier.
That is not confusion.
That is clarity.
That is your inner voice saying:
“This is no longer aligned.”
And when you begin to honor that…
Everything shifts.
You stop explaining.
You stop overextending.
You stop trying to be understood by people who were never meant to understand you.
And you choose peace.
Not loud.
Not dramatic.
Just quiet, grounded peace.
The kind that comes from finally being honest with yourself.
Peace doesn’t require perfection.
It requires truth.
And the moment you stop pretending…
You give yourself permission to experience it.
Peace is not something you create by managing everything around you. It is something you experience when you stop abandoning yourself to maintain comfort for others.
With grace,
Natalie
