🌿 SOUL WEALTH CHRONICLES ISSUE 85
I Stopped Betraying What I Know
There are moments in your life that don’t look dramatic from the outside…
but inside, everything changes.
This morning was one of those moments for me.
I woke up like any other Monday.
A little tired. A little achy. Still moving through my routine.
And like I’ve done almost every single day since 2023…
I opened my devotional app.
Except this time, something was different.
It told me I had missed a day.
It reset my streak.
And for a split second, I paused.
Because I knew I didn’t miss a day.
But what hit me wasn’t frustration…
it was clarity.
Clear, quiet, undeniable clarity.
I don’t need this anymore.
And just like that…
I deleted it.
Now let me be clear, this wasn’t about rebellion.
This wasn’t about anger.
And this definitely wasn’t something that happened overnight.
I’ve been questioning for years.
Since I was a child, there was always something in me that felt like…
something about this doesn’t fully make sense.
But when something is taught to you as truth, repeated, reinforced, and surrounded by fear, you learn to quiet that voice.
You learn to follow.
You learn to stay.
Even when your soul is whispering something else.
But over the past few years… especially since my awakening in 2023…
that whisper got louder.
Not louder in a chaotic way.
Louder in a knowing way.
And this morning, I stopped ignoring it.
This wasn’t an emotional breakdown.
This was a decision.
A grounded, embodied decision that said:
I can’t keep participating in something that no longer aligns with what I feel to be true.
Not out of disrespect.
Not out of fear.
But out of self-honesty.
Because at some point, your growth will ask you a question:
Are you going to keep doing what you’ve always done…
or are you going to choose what you now know?
And this morning…
I chose what I know.
I still believe in God.
I still believe in a higher power.
But what I no longer believe is that my connection to that power
should be filtered, controlled, or defined in a way that disconnects me from myself.
I don’t believe truth should require me to ignore my own intuition.
I don’t believe love should come with division.
And I don’t believe that my power was ever meant to be handed away.
What I’m learning now…
is that faith was never meant to make me smaller.
It was meant to remind me who I am.
This doesn’t mean I have all the answers.
It means I’m finally willing to ask better questions.
It means I’m choosing to learn… on my own terms.
It means I’m no longer afraid to trust what I feel, even if it leads me somewhere unfamiliar.
Because the truth is—
I didn’t lose my faith.
I just stopped outsourcing it.
There comes a moment in your life when you realize that growth isn’t about becoming someone new…
it’s about no longer pretending to be who you were.
And when that moment comes, it may not look loud.
It may not look emotional.
It may not even look like much to anyone else.
But you’ll feel it.
Because something inside you will finally say:
“This is where I choose myself.”
With grace,
Natalie
