SOUL WEALTH CHRONICLES ISSUE 93
The Power of What If: When Shifting Your Mindset Pulls You Out of Stagnation
Sometimes stagnation isn’t just about circumstances.
Sometimes it’s about certainty.
The kind of certainty that quietly forms after disappointment, delays, exhaustion, and too many seasons of waiting.
The certainty that says:
Nothing is changing.
This is all there is.
Maybe this is just my life now.
And honestly? I understand how easy it is to arrive there.
Because when you’ve been carrying stress for too long, when you’ve been emotionally exhausted, when your outer life still hasn’t caught up to your inner knowing, your mind starts trying to protect you by lowering expectations.
Hope starts feeling dangerous.
Possibility starts feeling unrealistic.
And slowly, without realizing it, stagnation becomes an identity instead of a temporary season.
But lately I’ve been realizing something important:
Sometimes the thing that pulls us out of stagnation is not a miracle.
Sometimes it’s a question.
A softer question.
A gentler question.
A more open question.
What if?
What if things are shifting beneath the surface?
What if this discomfort is redirection?
What if this chapter isn’t punishment, but preparation?
What if I’m closer than I think?
What if the life I want is still possible?
That one question changes the energy entirely.
Because mindset is not just about positivity.
It’s about perception.
It’s about whether we treat our current circumstances like permanent truth or temporary information.
And I think many of us get trapped because we confuse “current reality” with “final outcome.”
But they are not the same thing.
A difficult season is not a final verdict on your life.
And maybe that’s what I’ve been slowly learning.
Not to force fake optimism.
Not to bypass reality.
Not to pretend hard things aren’t hard.
But to stop worshipping the current evidence so completely that I leave no room for possibility.
Because possibility matters.
Possibility is often what keeps the soul alive long enough for the next chapter to arrive.
And maybe this is why “what if” feels so powerful to me lately.
Because it interrupts hopelessness.
Instead of:
Nothing is happening.
What if something is unfolding that I can’t fully see yet?
Instead of:
I’m stuck.
What if I’m in transition?
Instead of:
This is all there is.
What if my current life is only one chapter of a much larger story?
Those questions don’t magically solve everything.
But they soften the grip of certainty.
And certainty can become a prison when it is built entirely from disappointment.
I think that’s what many people are really fighting.
Not just circumstances.
But the mental exhaustion of trying to imagine a future that still feels invisible.
And honestly? I’ve been there too.
Still there in some ways.
But I’m beginning to understand that mindset work is not about pretending.
It’s about refusing to let your darkest thoughts become your loudest truth.
Because your thoughts shape your openness.
Your openness shapes your choices.
And your choices shape your future.
That’s why “what if” matters.
Not because it’s magical.
But because it reopens movement.
And maybe that’s all stagnation really is:
A closed internal door.
Maybe the beginning of your next chapter is not certainty.
Maybe it’s curiosity.
Maybe it’s possibility.
Maybe it’s simply the willingness to ask a different question.
What if?
And maybe that question alone is enough to begin pulling you toward a different life.
Before I go, I’ll leave you with this:
If your mind has been trapped in the same tired narrative, maybe you do not need a perfect answer right now.
Maybe you just need a different perspective.
And maybe that perspective is the beginning of your freedom.
With grace,
Natalie
