SOUL WEALTH CHRONICLES SOUL REFLECTION
May the Odds Be Ever in Your Favor
When life starts feeling like a survival game of tiny absurdities
Some days don’t feel hard because of one devastating thing.
They feel hard because of a hundred tiny, unnecessary things that all decide to happen before dinner.
A missing time-sensitive package.
A meeting question that answers itself.
An HR mix-up that shouldn’t exist.
Traffic where there shouldn’t be traffic.
Unexpected expenses.
One more email.
One more delay.
One more moment where you realize you are the only person in the room using the full power of your frontal lobe.
And suddenly, your whole day starts to feel less like “life” and more like a strange cross between The Hunger Games and Black Mirror.
That was my day.
Not tragic.
Not earth-shattering.
Just… absurd.
The kind of absurd that makes you laugh because if you don’t, you might actually scream.
The kind where you start wondering if everyone around you has been placed under some strange full moon spell where reading comprehension, common sense, and follow-through have all quietly left the building.
And the thing is, this is how burnout often shows up.
Not always through one giant collapse.
Sometimes it shows up through accumulation.
Tiny interruptions.
Tiny incompetencies.
Tiny delays.
Tiny things that shouldn’t require so much of your energy, but somehow still do.
That’s what wears you down.
That’s what tightens your shoulders.
That’s what makes your neck ache.
That’s what has you staring into traffic wondering if this is a simulation.
Because after a while, it’s not really about the package.
Or the meeting.
Or the email.
Or the invoice.
It’s about what it feels like to move through a world where basic things seem unnecessarily hard.
It’s about what happens when you are always the one:
noticing
remembering
thinking ahead
filling in the gaps
and trying to keep things moving
And yes… that gets old.
Fast.
I’ve had enough life experience by now to know that not every hard day means something is wrong.
Sometimes a day is just… a day.
A very annoying, expensive, full moon, glitch-in-the-matrix kind of day.
But I also know this:
Humor is a survival skill.
Sometimes the only thing standing between you and a complete unraveling is the ability to look at the chaos and say:
“May the odds be ever in your favor.”
Not because you’ve lost hope.
But because you’re choosing not to let every absurdity convince you that you’re off path.
Some seasons aren’t asking us to be perfect.
They’re asking us to:
keep our sense of humor
protect our peace
and stop giving every inconvenience the power to narrate our whole life
So if life has felt a little Hunger Games-ish lately…
If your day has felt like one long Black Mirror episode with office lighting…
If you’ve been carrying more than you should while trying not to lose your softness in the process…
This is your reminder:
You are not crazy.
You are not alone.
And yes… some days really are just “May the Odds Be Ever in Your Favor” days.
If that’s where you are too…
I hope the odds shift soon.
For both of us.
With grace,
Natalie
