I spent years asking for peace.
Apparently, I should have asked what it would feel like when I got it.
Because this?
I wasn’t expecting this.
I thought peace would feel euphoric.
Like relief washing over me.
Like waking up every morning thinking,
“Oh my God. Everything is finally okay.”
Instead...
peace felt boring.
There.
I said it.
😂
For so many years, my life seemed to operate in cycles of chaos.
Fix something.
Something else breaks.
Handle that.
Another surprise appears.
Solve that problem.
Brace yourself for whatever comes next.
There were stretches when I felt like I was on pins and needles for days at a time.
Even when nothing was actively wrong, there was this underlying awareness that something could go wrong.
And frequently...
something did.
I became incredibly good at managing it.
Adapting.
Problem-solving.
Starting over.
Moving.
Rebuilding.
Figuring things out.
I didn’t necessarily think of myself as living in chaos because I was functioning.
That’s the interesting part.
When you’ve been doing something long enough, it doesn’t always register as abnormal.
It just becomes...
life.
And then eventually, my life became more stable.
Not perfect.
Not finished.
Not everything I want it to be.
But stable.
Financially, I’m far more stable than I once was.
I still have debt.
Would I like it all paid off yesterday?
Of course.
But I don’t lie awake terrified about it.
I believe it will eventually be paid.
I’m not constantly worried about whether my life will ever change.
I’m still impatient sometimes.
I’m still wondering when certain things will happen.
But the question itself has changed.
And somehow...
I missed how significant that was.
I kept describing this period as stagnant.
A holding pattern.
The void.
Nothing happening.
And then it finally hit me.
Maybe nothing was wrong.
Maybe this was what stability felt like.
Maybe I wasn’t stuck.
Maybe my nervous system simply didn’t recognize peace because peace hadn’t been my normal.
That realization changed the way I looked at this entire chapter.
Peace Is Quieter Than I Expected
There’s no adrenaline rush attached to stability.
No emergency to solve.
No dramatic storyline.
No crisis requiring immediate action.
It’s Tuesday.
Then Wednesday.
Then Thursday.
You go to work.
Come home.
Feed the dogs.
Write.
Record a podcast.
Pay bills.
Watch television.
Go to bed.
And repeat.
And if you’re accustomed to intensity, eventually you start thinking:
“Is this it?”
🤣
I’ve spent so much time saying I’m bored lately.
And listen...
I am bored.
I would still like some fun.
Let’s be very clear about that.
Peace and excitement are allowed to coexist.
I am absolutely accepting applications from the universe for pleasant surprises.
😂
But now I understand that boredom isn’t necessarily evidence that I’m in the wrong place.
It may simply mean I’m no longer constantly responding to chaos.
That’s very different.
I Couldn’t Feel the Stabilization While It Was Happening
That’s another thing I’ve realized.
I knew intellectually that I was more stable.
I could look at my finances.
My reactions.
My decisions.
My life.
The evidence was there.
But emotionally?
I hadn’t caught up to it.
I kept waiting for stability to feel like something.
Instead, stability slowly became the absence of things.
The absence of panic.
The absence of constant fear.
The absence of having to rescue myself.
The absence of believing one unexpected expense could completely derail my life.
The absence of wondering whether everything would eventually work out.
And because absence doesn’t announce itself...
I almost overlooked it.
Maybe This Is What I Was Building
Looking back now, I can see how desperately earlier versions of me wanted what I have today.
They wanted room.
Breathing room.
Financial room.
Emotional room.
Room to make decisions instead of reacting.
Room to dream beyond survival.
And now that I have more of that room...
I’ve been looking around asking why nothing is happening.
Girl.
😂
Something did happen.
I stabilized.
That doesn’t mean I’m finished.
Far from it.
There are still things I want.
A different professional life.
Growth in Soul Wealth Rebirth™.
Travel.
Love.
Companionship.
Adventure.
More money.
More freedom.
More joy.
And yes...
a new chapter.
But I no longer need those things to rescue me.
That’s the difference.
I can desire them without requiring them to make me okay.
And maybe that’s one of the biggest transformations I’ve experienced.
Peace Wasn’t the Destination. It Was the Foundation.
I think that’s what I’m beginning to understand.
This quieter period wasn’t meant to be my final destination.
It was stabilization.
Foundation-building.
A chance for my external life to become quiet enough for my internal life to catch up.
And now?
I want to build from here.
Not from desperation.
Not from fear.
Not because I need to escape.
But because I’m ready to experience more.
I didn’t realize peace would feel like this.
So ordinary.
So quiet.
So uneventful.
And yet...
so incredibly valuable.
Maybe I didn’t recognize peace because I was waiting for it to announce itself.
It didn’t.
It simply arrived...
and waited for me to notice.
With grace,
Natalie
