Once I recognized that my life had stabilized, another realization followed.
I had spent so much time waiting for something to happen...
because quiet made me think something was missing.
Thatâs different from simply not recognizing peace.
This was about what I did after things became peaceful.
I kept looking beyond what was already in front of me.
Whatâs next?
Where am I going?
When is the opportunity coming?
When will I move?
When will the business grow?
When will love show up?
When will the next chapter finally begin?
I wasnât necessarily unhappy.
I was scanning.
Looking toward the horizon.
Waiting for evidence.
And recently I admitted something about myself:
Sometimes I look past whatâs directly in front of me because Iâm looking farther out.
Whew.
There it is.
When You Spend Years Looking Ahead
Looking ahead helped me survive.
There were seasons when believing something better existed beyond my current circumstances was necessary.
Hope kept me moving.
Vision kept me from settling.
Imagination reminded me that the chapter I was living wasnât the whole story.
Thereâs nothing wrong with that.
But eventually...
you have to come back to the present.
Because if youâre always searching the horizon...
you can miss the life youâve already created.
Thatâs what I was doing.
I was so focused on seeing the next door open that I wasnât fully noticing where I was standing.
The Life I Once Wanted Was Already Showing Up
This is where looking through my old journals became powerful.
Because earlier versions of me wanted stability.
They wanted enough money to breathe.
They wanted creative freedom.
They wanted their own voice.
They wanted to build something meaningful.
They wanted peace.
And now?
Iâm writing consistently.
My podcast is consistent.
Soul Wealth Rebirth⢠exists.
Iâm building something that belongs to me.
Iâm financially more stable.
Iâm making decisions differently.
Iâm not constantly operating from fear.
Yet somehow...
I was still saying:
âWhen does my life start?â
Girl.
Some of it already did.
đ
Quiet Doesnât Mean Empty
Maybe thatâs the distinction I needed.
Quiet and empty arenât the same thing.
Stillness and stagnation arenât the same thing.
Peace and lack of purpose arenât the same thing.
Something doesnât have to be dramatic to be meaningful.
My life isnât empty.
Itâs spacious.
And thereâs a difference.
Space allows creativity.
Space allows discernment.
Space allows rest.
Space allows you to choose what comes next instead of grabbing whatever appears because you desperately need something to change.
That last part matters.
Because the woman I am today doesnât have to take every door simply because it opens.
I can ask:
Does this actually fit me?
Do I want this?
Does this support the life Iâm building?
Am I moving toward something...
or simply moving because I donât know what to do with stillness?
Those are very different questions than I would have asked years ago.
I Still Want Something to Pop Out of Thin Air
Letâs also be clear.
Growth has not made me completely serious.
đ
I would still LOVE for something exciting to pop out of thin air.
A beautiful opportunity.
An unexpected invitation.
A trip.
A collaboration.
A pleasant surprise.
Something that makes me say:
âWAIT. WHAT?!â
Because after all this peace...
Momma would like some fun.
But now I can distinguish between wanting excitement...
and believing I need an external event to prove my life is moving.
I donât.
Thatâs the difference.
Maybe Nothing Is Missing
Maybe this chapter isnât empty space between the old life and the new one.
Maybe this is part of the new life.
The quieter part.
The part where I learn who I am without constant disruption.
The part where I build.
Create.
Rest.
Observe.
Choose.
The part where I stop interpreting silence as abandonment.
The part where I stop assuming nothing is happening simply because I canât see the next development yet.
Something will happen.
Doors will open.
Life will move.
It always does.
But I donât need to stare at the door waiting for the handle to turn.
I can live while I wait.
Actually...
maybe I donât even have to call it waiting anymore.
Maybe Iâm simply living.
And when the next thing arrives...
Iâll meet it there.
With grace,
Natalie
