There was a time when feeling change in the air would have made me move.
Immediately.
I would have started searching.
Planning.
Analyzing.
Trying to figure out what was coming before it arrived.
If I sensed movement, I believed my job was to move with it.
Or maybe even get ahead of it.
But something about me has changed.
Because lately...
I can feel movement.
I can feel that something is shifting.
I can feel that the season I’m in isn’t permanent.
And yet...
I’m not running.
That’s new.
The old version of me would probably have ten tabs open by now.
A spreadsheet.
Three contingency plans.
And at least one completely unnecessary backup plan for the backup plan.
Because uncertainty used to activate me.
If I couldn’t see what was coming, I tried to manufacture certainty.
Planning gave me the illusion that I could control the outcome.
But I’ve lived enough life now to know something.
My plans don’t always unfold the way I imagine them.
Sometimes they lead somewhere better.
Sometimes life reroutes me completely.
And sometimes the answer doesn’t appear until I’m close enough to actually see it.
So I’m learning not to confuse preparation with control.
I can prepare without panicking.
I can explore without forcing.
I can make decisions without needing to know every step that comes afterward.
That’s where I am now.
I have made decisions.
I’ve revisited what needed revisiting.
I’ve released what needed releasing.
I’ve consulted.
I’ve reflected.
I’ve surrendered.
I’ve started making plans.
There isn’t some giant unfinished assignment hanging over my head.
And maybe that’s why this moment feels so strange.
Because I’m used to believing that when something big is coming...
I need to do something.
But maybe I don’t.
Maybe sometimes the work is staying grounded while the energy around you accelerates.
Maybe the challenge isn’t movement.
Maybe it’s restraint.
Trust.
Discernment.
Allowing.
I’m still paying attention.
I’m still making practical choices.
I’m still participating in my own life.
But I’m no longer trying to drag tomorrow into today just because I’m curious about what happens next.
And yes...
I’m still curious.
Very curious.
I’d still appreciate a giant neon sign from the universe every once in a while.
But I’m beginning to understand that clarity doesn’t always arrive ahead of the path.
Sometimes the path appears because you kept walking.
So if everything around you feels like it’s speeding up while something inside you is saying...
“Stay.”
Maybe staying isn’t stagnation.
Maybe you’re finally learning the difference between movement and momentum.
Not every shift requires a reaction.
Sometimes...
the most powerful thing you can do is remain steady enough to recognize the door when it actually opens.
With grace,
Natalie
