Reflections on the Rapture: Awakening Is the Real Rapture
Awakening, Not Escaping
When I was younger, I never feared the rapture. While many around me held their breath waiting for the sky to split, I didn’t believe it. Something in me always questioned what we were taught in church.
I’ve watched at least fifty predictions come and go in my lifetime. Each one carried the same cycle: fear, preparation, expectation. Then silence. And I couldn’t help but wonder… if the Bible itself says no one knows the day or the hour, why do we keep pretending we do?
That question has stayed with me. And today, when people were once again expecting the rapture, I see something different: not fear, but awakening.
A Biblical Lens
The word “rapture” itself never actually appears in the Bible. What does appear are passages about being “caught up” with the Lord; like 1 Thessalonians 4:16–17. But just as clearly, Matthew 24:36 says:
“But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.”
So every attempt to assign a date; whether in 1988, 1994, 2011, 2017, or this week — is people trying to claim knowledge that Scripture says is not ours to know.
That’s why I’ve always questioned the fear-based narratives. Because if no one knows the day or hour, then what exactly have we been preparing for?
Cutting Through the Illusion
If the rapture is happening, it’s not a one-time cosmic event. It’s happening daily.
It’s every time you choose clarity over confusion. Every time you refuse to fall back asleep. Every time you cut through the illusions and say, “No, I see truth now.”
That’s why I see this through the lens of the Queen of Swords. She doesn’t sugarcoat. She cuts away what no longer serves. And that’s what this “rapture” has become for me: not fear of missing out, but a refusal to go back to sleep.
Those Who Sleep, Those Who Rise
Here’s what I’ve noticed: the ones who believe they’re most ready for the rapture, the ones waiting for the trumpet blast and a sudden escape; are often the ones still asleep. They’re clinging to an illusion, defending systems that no longer hold power.
Meanwhile, the people life has dragged through fire; the divorced, the grieving, the ones who lost homes, jobs, or identities. Those are the ones who often rise. Because they’ve had no choice but to awaken.
The true “leaving behind” isn’t about heaven vs. hell. It’s about frequency. It’s awareness. Some stay in fear. Others rise into clarity, compassion, and truth.
My Soul Declaration
I’ve walked through too much to pretend I don’t see.
The rapture is not an escape. It’s an awakening. A frequency shift. A willingness to live awake when the world begs you to stay asleep.
And here’s the truth: the Bible never once uses the word “rapture.” It tells us no one knows the day or the hour; not even the Son. Yet people still keep setting dates, and believers still keep falling for them.
That’s the frightening part. Calling yourself a Christian doesn’t mean you know God. Studying religion doesn’t equal living in truth. Because when fear or illusion guides you, you miss the presence of God right here, right now.
And once your eyes open, there is no going back.
✨ The rapture isn’t about leaving earth. It’s about becoming fully alive on it.
Reflection for You:
Where in your life are you fully awake right now? And where are you tempted to close your eyes again?
With grace,
Natalie

I have so much to say on this one. I guess this is where the "preacher's son" comes out. I use to enjoy the conversations I had with my father many years ago when I was at home. I have had a few people who somehow fell into this rapture trend. I found myself asking them what Bible are they reading and if they didn't see Matthew 24:36 or Mark 13:32. A few got upset with me because I followed up with them that Wednesday to see how they were doing. I even had one former co-worker tell me they got the calendar wrong and it was still happening on October 6 or 7th. I just shook my head and said ok. I guess God is on our time now.
Now onto the rest of what you shared. I agree, the rapture does or can happen daily for people who choose clarity over confusion. There's quite a few who will be "left behind", but I've reached a place where I've stopped trying to go back for them.
See Natalie I'm trying to keep it short 😁 but here's a book that I got years ago that helped give me a more enlighten perspective on a number of things, although it's referencing the church you can apply it in other areas of life too. "Dancing with Dinosaurs: Ministry in a Hostile & Hurting World" By William Easum (https://www.amazon.com/Dancing-Dinosaurs-Ministry-Hostile-Hurting/dp/0687316790)
I’m fully awake now in the life lesson to listen to your inner spirit. Make sure you’re good first. And aligned with what God has for you. Often times I think of others by thinking of their needs and desires before my own. Life has taught me well. 🙏🏾
